Skacky
Hey guys, I just released the first public beta of arena_malevolence, that comes with a slightly modified king of the hill version. Malevolence (which name is more likely subject to change in the next days) is set in an industrial plant shared by BLU and RED somewhere in some relaxing and sunny mountains. The map focuses on one main room with plenty of entrances providing interesting fights. I also designed the map for vertical combat. Snipers, Scouts and Demomen can be deadly if they quickly reach the last floor and aren't stopped. I designed it during my spare time when I had ideas, and the development lasted something like two or three months total I think (with of course some weeks I didn't do anything because I was pretty busy ). The king of the hill version contains more items, some were changed, and has enlarged spawns, and the side doors won't open. Like I said in other boards, I will probably have to open some new paths and close some for the koth version, because it doesn't really play like arena. I'm thinking about adding a direct path from spawns to CP but going to the last floor instead of the first, so Heavies etc won't slaughter everyone. Download KOTH | Download ARENA Images come from the arena version, but the koth version is 95% the same. Let me know if you find bugs or anything that can be bad. Hope you will enjoy it! For people who don't know how to install maps on TF2, just unzip the archive in steam/steamapps/youraccount/team fortress 2/tf/ and it should work! dux
Pretty cool but I think the lighting really lacks. Just from looking at the thumbnails everything seems to be grey. You load up the image and yep, it's grey Throw a little contrast in there to help the light that's coming through the windows.
Scinbed
Or make the windows bigger to let more light in. Looks fine otherwise though. Not many good (mostly) indoor maps for TF2.
Skacky
Yeah the next aesthetic step is to remove this gray feel indoors by making the neons a little more blue-ish, since their base color is kinda flat and monochromatic.
