FrieChamp Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Sort of an online PVP Crackdown, a "cops vs criminals" MMO. Technically it isn't exactly an MMO, there can be up to 10.000 people playing at the same time on a server, but "only" 100 in each district (or 250 in "social" districts, these are districts where combat is restricted I suppose). It is being developed by Realtime Worlds and published by EA Partners. Commiting felonies in a gang or chasing the bad guys and getting them into jail - sounds simple, but also lots of fun to me! Maybe Defrag can fill us in on some details Vid-e-o: Official website: http://www.apb.com/features/ Quote

dux Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I've been wanting for a game like this for ages. Finally! Me and my friends are gonna form our gang and call our get away vehicle the pussy wagon then go and run people down. Quote
sarge mat Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Been waiting for this since it was announced as a 360 game way, way back. Just watching the videos I can tell it controls and plays a lot like crackdown. So want to play as the cops. Quote
Erratic Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 This and Brink with their spikey hair wife beater neon punkish super city look is a big wtf. But I'll still play it. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Important to note that despite the MMO features there's no sub fee for APB. Quote
Mazy Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I've generally liked the stuff I've seen from APB, hell, I've been excited about it since I first heard the rumblings after those guys branched out from Rockstar North around Vice City's launch. But most of the stuff I'm seeing at the moment isn't really doing anything for me to be honest. The things that being pimped is the customization tools, because thats whats gotten most of the hype so far, the actual gameplay side seems pretty generic from what I've seen thus far. Still excited to try it out tho, but I'm just getting the same kinda feeling that I have with Alan Wake; Its a cool looking game that's just been revealed a bit too early for its own good. Quote

FrieChamp Posted September 20, 2009 Author Report Posted September 20, 2009 Applied for beta testing Quote
KungFuSquirrel Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 For whatever it means, they've changed their FAQ since that article; still looks like it'll be free of monthly fees but still curious to see the final payment model. Would be awesome if it's just a normal game purchase with the occasional expansion/DLC, but who knows. How much will APB cost? The price and payment model have not been finalized yet but we can say it won’t be the traditional monthly subscription model. I'd sure like for it to be free-to-play, though; saves me the trouble of having to pick between APB and TOR. Quote
Sentura Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 the trailer managed to get me hyped and unhyped in one go. Quote
