This is my first project in source and I have sort of been learning as I go so I thought a survival map would be better for a first project rather than trying a campaign just yet. Anyway it’s set in a gas station between two tunnels and I still need to give the border area around it a bit more love but let us know what you think so far. Still learning the finer details of the lights in source so they are a bit :|

A note about the shots, I used fraps and they look darker than it actually is in game.

I do have a different name for it as well.

Thanks as always

Mat

I'm no expert in the topic...but based off what I see:

-The tree line looks TOO even an repetitive...maybe if you're going to use the same tree model over and over, try rotating each one so they look different.

-The garage with the car in it looks stale. There's no overhanging roof-line. A few suggestions would be to have a sign above the door, a pile of used tires to the left of the door, maybe some gutters on the garage, and the fore-mentioned roof overhang.

I know you're not done...but it also needs a few props here and there on the exterior. Also...the walls outside look PLAIN. Maybe add some trim / ridges, ...something.

Great start for a novice IMO. keep it coming.

Need to find a better way than fraps to get shots.

for screenshots just use the "take screenshot" button... I think its f5 by default and it just saves the images in "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead\L4D\screenshots"

or some similar named folder in the Left 4 Dead folder... it tells u in the console once you take it.

You still haven't fixed that fog or tree line.

yea, I actually just went in and fixed the fog up to a colour the same as the sky and it looks loads better. Not sure why the f I didn't do it before. Yea the trees are still sticking out.

Thanks
