onji Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 I'm interested to see how Bitsquid comes along. I've liked the rendering & physics stuff put out by a few of the devs on this team. Quote
Trempler Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Hmm time for me to post some updates Still working hard on my Halflife 1 Mod abyss 048, sadly i´m slow progressing... anyway i reworked my airport map a lot and started to replace all content with my own. The textures are mostly CG/TK references some are heavy edited some less Models are still not done so i still have 90% placeholders in there ! Too i´m still searching for some prop modeller ! Allright here some pics: Hope you like it Feedback is welcome syver, knj, ⌐■_■ and 4 others 7 Quote
Hipshot Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Hope you like it Feedback is welcome I like it, because it reminds me of older games and what older games could look like when they thought it looked really good. Something 3d realms would make, something duke nukem, or Sin perhaps... Quote
⌐■_■ Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) love it. kinda reminds me of the supermall map from brainbread (heavens gate) (although this looks better) Edited March 8, 2013 by killertomato Quote
robert.briscoe Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Experimenting with a hand-painted art style in UDK without post processing or fancy shaders: Still got a long way to go, but it's certainly fun to do something non-realistic for a change. Only thing i'm struggling with atm is finding a convincing watercolour brush/technique in PS to paint my textures with. Mazy, General Vivi, OrnateBaboon and 17 others 20 Quote
PogoP Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) That looks really cool man. Could you show your material set up for the grass? It looks like it blends with the ground really well. Reminds me of the Winnie the Pooh level Pontus did at Frontier.. http://www.pomperi.com/ Edited March 8, 2013 by PogoP Quote

JeanPaul Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Yeah man thats insanely awesome. The sky definitely needs the art pass though Quote
robert.briscoe Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Thanks! The sky is just a standard UDK one atm, have just been focusing on the foliage and terrain textures at this point Quote
Hipshot Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 UDK without post processing or fancy shaders: That's why it looks so good. Except for the sky, then... Quote
AkiRa Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 @robert.briscoe: This looks so awesome! I'am working a small environment in CE3 at the moment to push my overall skills a bit and get some more familiar with that great engine. Still early stages as you see. Quote
