dux Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 dustbowl. Yeah, just make sure not to make it as annoying and cramped. Quote
Synthesizer Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Thanks everyone. I work at Grin as an env artist. It's arena mode, so the mirrored layout works best I think. I'm wanting to make something a bit smaller and more manageable, I've never actually finished a map before Quote
JeanPaul Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Holy FUCK Also, making this mirrored and arena is a complete waste of this Quote
DvS Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 On one hand there'd be a good chance of valve picking the map up if it's arena, on the other hand, nobody plays arena It's very good looking though. Quote
Josch Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 @Synthesizer: Looks really cool I like the dispacement work! Although, the indoor area is a bit too empty in my opinion... I also would prefer a "real" map, not just an arena-type, but this is your decision. Stay tuned! Quote
Skjalg Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Holy FUCK Also, making this mirrored and arena is a complete waste of this +1 Hands down the finest piece of tf2 map I've seen to date. Quote
PhilipK Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 looks awesome barksy! And it was really fun to play so i bet this is gonna be a really kickass one when it's released. Quote
Sentura Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 i agree with the potential wasted for arena. it would be one hell of a cp map. Quote
tofu Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 You could make the floor here a displacement, to give it a more organic look as opposed to the current blocky nature of it at the moment. Push some of the displacement up and above the corners of the slabs. You could also hack off some corners of the other slabs to reveal bits of whats underneath. Throw some crack decals/overlays over it, stains etc... Quote
JoshuaC Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 I'm really enjoying mapping for L4D. Quote
Freak Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 nice but the propellor doesn´t have shadows Quote
