Warby Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 Hessi he isn't attempting DOF, he is attempting tilt shifting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilt-shift_miniature_faking). i fail to see how "tilt-shifting" blur is not DOF ? and the article you are linking seams to agree with me that tilt shifting is in fact dof quote: ... By distorting the focus of the photo, the artist simulates the shallow depth of field normally encountered with macro lenses making... really i still have to figure out what that word tilt-shift actually means at all. KoKo5oVaR Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 hahahahahahahaha haa ha aha ah ha But indeed i don't really see the difference between DOF and tiltshifting either blur the foreground and the background ? Maybe that's just because it's applied to miniatures ? Quote
insta Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Tilt shifting is the new sharpen filter. Quote

Campaignjunkie Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 ... Except Sharpen is occasionally useful. (and since this is getting so incredibly off-topic, I'll go ahead and post a screenshot) "Welcome aboard the Internal Repression Service. Technically you're not much more than a filing clerk, but your official title is "object relocation specialist' - now you'll need to start right away; whenever therapy or stress threatens to bring back a painful traumatic memory, it's your job to repress it. Hide it somewhere else and don't let the hormones get it. Right now James is in 'couples counseling' with his husband, so needless to say we're on high alert. Just make sure you don't break one open accidentally - or else you'll never work in this brain again. " Quote

Can't say I can think of a single game off the top of my head with a gay character. Males in anime and games in that style are often androgynous or feminine in appearance but I don't think they're gay. I find it funny how feminine some of the characters in fighting games like the KOF series look. Quote

Campaignjunkie Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Gay marriage is kind of a hot issue here in California / the states right now... timeliness, people! Internal Repression Service (IRS), Right Frontal Cortex, James’ Brain. POSITION: Object Relocation Specialist, ASSIGNMENT: Anomalous Memory Logistics, CLEARANCE: Level 3, ADMINISTRATIVE SPONSOR: Classified, DISASTER RESPONSE PRIORITY: Discretionary. (Are all the translations on the signs correct? I only speak French / bits of Chinese) (The seal is actually based on the real IRS seal... their motto being "Service + Enforcement = Compliance," really too good to be true in my case.) Quote
FrieChamp Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 James' Brain Internal Repression Service Awesome! Quote
e-freak Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 wicked story looks decent, not sure if the anorganic design fits though. could imagine some kind of organic stuff could work in there too. Quote
