Sindwiller Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Alright, Q3. http://zfight.com/misc/images/maps/m8/m8_1.jpg http://zfight.com/misc/images/maps/m8/m8_2.jpg Wow, that is some rad stuff right there - how did you do that amazing terrain work? You used q3map2, right? Didn't it, like, starte crying under the pressure of such complex geometry producing collision holes and lightmapping artifacts? Quote

Campaignjunkie Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Two projects going at the moment. I'm trying to do weird experimental "art mod" stuff because that's the only thing that'll keep me interested enough to finish something for a change: 1) "More Matter," you're trapped on a slowly sinking submarine not so secretly suffering from schizophrenia, possessed by the vengeful ghost of Emily Dickinson. (that bland, greenish sickly corridor with water) 2) "Polaris," stargazing on the cheapest / lamest date ever - you still can't believe you're dating this guy. (the forest clearing with the stars and the red lantern lit guy)... Part of a series of "fivetwelve" maps where I limit myself to a playable area of 512 x 512 and try to do something interesting and polished with it. Quote

sarge mat Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Hello Everyone. It’s been a little while since I posted something here but since the last map which was pretty bad I have tried out a few others again the layout's where not great great. But I thought I would post this one up here so that the wonderful mapcore people can hopeful point out where I am going right and wrong. As you can see I have its just textured at the moment (I am working with Default UT3 textures and Meshes) not really any meshes or anything like that and have only given the lights a first pass. Thanks mat So if I could get a bit of feedback on the layout so far that would be great. It’s UT3 BTW I should add. Images (I will just link to the rest so I am not filling the page with loads of screenshots) http://img237.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen3hr8.jpg http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen4wu5.jpg http://img266.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen5ss0.jpg http://img266.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen6pt6.jpg http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen7bc4.jpg http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen8lp0.jpg Quote
Psy Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 5 minutes in the Far Cry 2 editor. Quite simply the most easiest editor ever. Quote
Acumen Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 hey KoKo5oVaR, that looks quite nice ! i love the slight purple tint, but still i'd love to see just a tad of contrast in the lighting, like in the pic with the explosion. really subtle Quote
VoodooBenshee Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 lighting and details coming later Quote

2d-chris Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 lighting and details coming later looks nice already Quote
-HP- Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 lighting and details coming later The textures are mostly grey and could use with some more color and intensity variation. Those blue tubes help a little bit, and break the monotony but still, something doesn't fit in that scene, hard to put into words. Probably It's all this grey and lit lighting, looking forward to see some more! PS. Remember that red and yelow lights also look really great on this sci-fi scenes. Example: Good luck! Quote
