Jenn0_Bing Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Yeah, it really looks brilliant, has this painty appearance to it and i love the grit/ colour pallet. Quote
arhurt Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Peris, that is splendid and inspiring. Can't wait to see a higher rez render of that scene, so much detail Quote
Buddy Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Good to see you found time to work on this... for me its like worst timing for a competition, couldnt they start 2 months before Looks Hawt. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 thanks guys! Here's another small update, I did some texture tweaks, made an extra piece of vegetation and some wires. I also mocked up a lamppost which will give some more sense of scale i hope. I might still add some benches, but the clock is ticking now... . 2 more weeks and it has to be done Quote
-HP- Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 vegetation fits the scene like a glove. awesome Arent you going you going to place some lights on it? It looks a bit monochromatic, but i can sense that's the whole Idea too, so... Quote
arhurt Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Looking sweet! Maybe not enough time to make, or even not in line with your concept, but a spaceship or other subtle element in the sky above would be awesome. Quote
Schmung Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 A few spotlights or some lighting on those walkways would really liven up the scene IMO Awesome work so far. Quote
FrieChamp Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Good stuff Peris, can you add a bump texture to the rocky ground material? Quote
Pericolos0 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Good stuff Peris, can you add a bump texture to the rocky ground material? hehe, it's actually rendered from a highpoly rubble pile model i made, but you can hardly see the normal map since the lighting is so soft . Hopefully i can figure something out to bring out the normal maps more =). arhurt: i was going to have a crashed spaceship in the scene somewhere, but unfortunatly time is running short now Quote
-HP- Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Well, you can always convert that high poly rubble pile model you made to low poly, and import it to the scene. use poly cruncher plugin or something. Quote

But my plan was to cut up to low poly to get more silhouette from the high poly in there , and then add some separate modeled blocks on top of that together with vegetation. Very fast to do, and will look really detailed in game (i hope )! Quote
