-HP- Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 First map ever? Well', there's not much to comment so far as this two screens don't show much, besides in a wild environment it's hard to state what's wrong or right, but I can see some of the stuff that can be considered "wrong". Like the floor on this pic, you applied what appears to be a brown grass(?) and than you put a road tool on top, with a very bright texture. Imagine in real life, if cars were to pass by that kind of terrain, would it really leave that kind of trails behind? When doing mapping for Crysis one has to appeal for the "realistic" side of things, and have a good feeling for environment. Do the textures and the props blend in toguether? Does that rock blend in on that forest, or a better texture should be applied? Props should not be placed randomly, as everything should live in harmony, there's lots of assets for you to play with. Good luck Quote
dux Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Are you running the game on low? It looks... odd. Quote
Deathy Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 It is editors skrins! (on XP) all high! I remember HP posting that there was a shortcut where it shot a screen (in the editor) with the maximum settings or something. Quote

Seldoon182 Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 AWESOME penE ! It's reminds me the ND Subway part of Sa74n's map ! Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 A little scene I'm working on for my portfolio If you're making this to show off the textures then it's awesome. The mapping itself isn't showing off anything special. Quote

Slightly cliche (just a bit) but can be undeniably effective for a cool looking map. Other alternatives include working subway trains that move on schedule to show off scripting, or a sekrit base (also slightly cliched) hidden via an entrance down a tunnel. Quote
