PogoP Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Those shots are very dark, I can hardly see anything. Like what I can see of the atmosphere though. Quote
Warby Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 looks fucking A ... its soo dark though i bet nobody is going to want to play it because of that ! Quote
Albatros Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Hey , thanks. Yeah feeling like General Custer here fighting against gamma and brightness... The new TFT is really taking it's toll color-wise. Could one of you probably give me a paintover with nothing changed except for sufficiant brightness? That'd save me from pondering around for dozens of hours until I get my monitor configuration done properly. Quote
Psy Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 This is what looks best on my monitor. Quote
Skacky Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Wow, this is really amazing Albatros. By the way, messin' around with Hammer this afternoon. My light_env color sucks balls actually, gonna change it asap. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 I was having trouble finding inspiration for the three main buildings in the current Source map I'm working on, so I broke out MSPaint and my fantastic artistic skills. Top left is an apartment building. The stairs between the second and third floor have collapsed, blocking the route between the first and second with the rubble. All three floors are similarly designed apartments, four to a floor, except the third, which is divided into two. Top right is a store, the stairs to the second floor are barricaded with shelves and other miscellaneous items. Second floor is a storeroom and small office, third floor is an apartment for the store owner. Bottom left is a bank. Second and third floor are offices. Quote
Chunks Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 you should look into Illustrator or SketchUp Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 I've tried Sketchup in the past- it felt inaccurate about which plane it would make a surface on based on the awkward camera movement, and it took an equal amount of work for me to just make something in Hammer or UnrealEd. I fail to see how Illustrator will produce different results of me doodling on a blank page with my mouse. Quote
Loafie, Hero of Dreams Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 that's looking mighty good albatross :monocle: Quote
DvS Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 My first shot at making custom textures, planning to make something for TF2 when I get this down. BTW: Does anyone know why all your reflections turn purple when you try to compile HDR in TF2? Works for EP2 Quote
Quakis Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Personaly, I absolutely love the look of those textures. The blue tones really work well with the sandrock-coloured brick. Nice work. Th brick however does have major repeatitiveness issues though. Quote
dissonance Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Hot damn, DvS, those look amazing. They'd fit in with Valve's TF2 textures perfectly. Quote
Psy Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 I find the blue a little overpowering. Hurts my eyes a little. Quote
