D3ads Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 That's fantastic tomdon, the detail in your work amazes me! Condemned Building environment test: Quote
aevirex Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Two Screenshots from my heavily wip UT2004 DM: Quote
hessi Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 /!\ doenerking filter detected /!\ rest looks cool. maybe a bit empty. colors are pretty "hip" Quote
Pericolos0 Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Like it alot! Clean and stylish, but the textures could use some polish imo. Dont like the tiling bland texture boxmapped on mesh style, but i guess it works good with unreal. Quote
Zeta Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 its a nice start to then build more details on eg wall mounted machines / girders etc Quote
aevirex Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 /!\ doenerking filter detected /!\ Well, yeah, true... I thought I have to make a bit outstanding (no Normalmapping, ... the engine is o l d). I hope it doesn't bother you (that much ). Like it alot! Clean and stylish, but the textures could use some polish imo. Dont like the tiling bland texture boxmapped on mesh style, but i guess it works good with unreal. The textures for the prefabs I did at the beginning were quite complex (Ambient Occlusion, etc.) but for progress' sake I went for the 'unreal way'. Thanks all. Quote
FMPONE Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Personally, I think its stunning avirex. What filter is that Quote
aevirex Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 It is called ... pssst ... don't tell anyone .... "Sharpen". Here is a screenshot without sharpening: (On the other hand, I didn't have Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering activated.) Quote
Psy Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 I find it weird that in-game screenshots always end up more blurry then they should look. Thank god for the sharpen filter. Quote
ifO Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Looking very good for HL1 d3ads. I might have some models you can use that would fit that theme (if you're willing to wait a few weeks ) Tomdon and aevirex.. awesome! Quote
Schmung Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Personally speaking I'd like to see a bit more variation in lighting, I really like how snow looks with different lighting/colours around it. Quote
spacer Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Testing out that CTF set I was working on. This'll probably turn into an FF map or something. Quote
Sindwiller Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 @D3 Impressive how much detail you can squeeze out of Goldsrc! Keep it up! @aevirex Looks very nice. Like the lighting alot @spacer Look nice and dirty Looking forward to a whole CTF/FF map Quote
D3ads Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Looking very good for HL1 d3ads. I might have some models you can use that would fit that theme (if you're willing to wait a few weeks ) Totally! Btw I don't mean to be a bitch, but can we have a new rule in this thread whereby people have to comment on other people's work before posting their own? I think it is only manners to make some critics about someone else's art just in the same way others would make about your own. It's just I posted my own screenshot and then aevirex posted his own screenshots and mostly distracted away from my own Looking very good anyway aevirex, I love snow themed stuff Quote
aevirex Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 I'm sorry, tbh the reason why I didn't say anything on your screenshot is because I didn't know what engine it is... it looks very nice and atmospheric for HalfLife 1 indeed! For future screenshots I will try not to steal all the attention . Quote
