Grinwhrl Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 so you took Office and moved some props around? Quote
Minos Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Why remake it and make it look exactly the same with the original? haha Quote
Gorion Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 well, because you asked so nicely an overview of the CT spawn (garage..). as you can see the lay-out is infact different, allthough i offcourse agree, the props/models are almost the same as office. Quote
von*ferret Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 I mean you got some ideas, great, but try to improve on the aesthetic or prove out the gameplay using a different style. You are obviously compitent map builder, so try something new. Quote
neotic Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Very much a work in progress... . but really wanted to post something =x it probably will be a de_ map.. Quote
ReNo Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Pretty nice, epic architecture there, but dear lord the texture selection was ill-advised! I assume the texturing is the biggest area of WIP, however in case not, I suggest that when relying on vertical tiling so much, you pick a texture without so many horizontal breaks In the second pic it almost looks like you've actually built some geometry to emphasise the ledges and things in the texture - is that actually the case or just me reading the screenshot wrong? Quote
ifO Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Yeah I think he has, it's not that bad but maybe halve the number of vertical repeats and those breaks Reno mentioned. I like the scale of it though. Quote
Wesley Tack Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Made this boat for the past 2 days. Just finished it. The hull + propeller are modeled, the rest is bsp. So you can walk on the ship, on the stairs up to the main deck and on the containers for some sniping action This will go in a shipping dock for another Off Limits map. Texture on the hull is 2048*2048 though, given the size. Hope you like it Quote
⌐■_■ Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Hahahahh! This is awesome! Good job! Quote
Squad Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Looking nice, but it may look better if the ship wasn't fully stacked with containers. Perhaps remove some here and there, so there's a bit of irregularity. Nice touch on the "Belgium Shipping - Antwerp" thing. Love it Quote
Wesley Tack Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 This is just the full shot view, used to build it. In the map itself it will be tilted with some containers gone + some spilled off the side on the dock. Quote

Yeah, I'm going to protrude those ledges out and once I get a proper light_env in there I hope it will create enough dynamic to make it not feel so repetitive. but!! i do know I need more textures... =x thx Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 open that container that is connecting the ship and dock to create a new path kplz also needs giant cranes on the docks. Quote
Sa74n Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 i second the cranes. looks nice btw Quote
