Hey, thanks for the comments from before.

This is another couple shots from what I'm calling dm_torrent. It's of the first area I actually started with.

I'm hoping to have this thing completed in the next week or so.

The lighting, particularly in the second shot, isn't finalized, as that far left back doorway isn't complete. But the first shot is the best indication of what the rest of the narrow sections of the map will resemble.

its so drab its depressing. Maybe find a way to do a focal point in your room, lighting wise, detail wise, or something that doesn't use color. Might help create more of an ambience in your room. Volumetric Light maybe?

I can see the inspiration though: that part of HL2, either Anticitizen One or Follow Freeman, trapsing through City 17's underworld.

However, with deathmatch you won't have the explosive Combine battles and tense manhack chases, you're going to have to make the environment the main star. Like Ferret says, find a focal point and go with it.

Erratic - I think that looks awesome. It feels exactly as an abandonned place should. I wouldn't expect anything else in it, but von's definetly right about color. It doesn't need any. If you were to put color in it, that would destroy the mood which, I find, is quite amazing.

Hmmm i'd say it looks exactly like an abandoned place level should look. I mean, those beams at the ceeling don't make sense for example, not in the real world. But in the level they fit in just fine.

I really like those shots, erratic. It just needs to be bashed up and a bit more rustic, plus it could use a few areas of focus (like parts where the roof has fallen in and water has gathered, or something like that). Nice work :)

If you look at them from a distance, you can pretend they're from a new engine.

No you can't. :banjo::cry:

Keep walking back until you can.

@ferret They're actually part of a set of 6 shots, I was showing how it all connected up.
