Polaris Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Better to have trains that are a pain in the ass than to not have them at all. What would you achieve by taking them out? Why would it ever even occur to Valve to take them out? Quote
General Vivi Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 there is a flag that you can check that says soemthing along the lines of fixed orientation or somthing Quote
FrieChamp Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Reminds me of a mall map for CS I was once working on Quote
mabufo Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Vivi, fletch - which entities am I supposed to play with to fix this? Also, firechamp - that looks fairly decent. Keep it going! My only crit however, is the texture you are using for the railings(or what have you) on the 2nd floor, the texture just doesn't fit. Quote

Sorry, I should have used the "quote" tags. This is one of Skullhozer's shots from the page before, not mine. Also, it is FrieChamp, not Fire... Quote
mabufo Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 I've never mapped for hl1, so you'll have to forgive me for not knowing what the clip texture looks like! Sorry I mistyped your name as well! Arg! EDIT: No worries fellas, my train now works as it should. Quote

ROFLCOPTER Look's a lot better Mabufo, like Bic said you should take a look at Max Payne's subway, also I'd recommend looking at Silent Hill 3's subway as that's another well designed one. Frie: Old school HL ftw Quote
ReNo Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Silent Hill is now D3's standard "see this for reference" game Quote
MJ Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Trains must be constructed facing east (in the Top viewport of Hammer, this is facing right) otherwise they will be pointing the wrong direction in-game. They will turn themselves to face the correct direction. Quote
D3ads Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Silent Hill is now D3's standard "see this for reference" game Yeah well it does, so suck my ass Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Hey mapcorians, two really early screens of the map i'm working on. That's the remake of one of my first hl2 map dm_gits : http://kokosovar.free.fr/mapshl/dm_gitsbeta1.jpg Now that i have improved my skills in hl2 modding, especialy in the modeling and texturing fields, i've thought of remaking the map into something which uses 80% of models. Those are really early, everything is pretty much wip the roof and the pillars Quote
Meotwister Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 looking really cool koko, obviously dark but it's really early so cant really give criticism. Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 yeah don't critic the lighting, it's just an omnidirectional light at the top of the level Quote
