WIP in WIP, post your level screenshots!

I just slapped those textures on* so that people could see what the geometry looks like – all that brushwork was covered in the SKY texture. Oh, and the only reason they’re covered in those particular textures is because those were the textures already loaded in Hammer.

*Excluding the third and forth screenshots.

Ok so its killbox, killbox2, killboxoutdoors etc. etc.?

Um, actually, no. The last two screenshots are from an “aim_” map, correct. However, the rest of the screenshots just show WIP geometry that may or may not (more likely :-D) turn into full-sized “de_” or “cs_” maps.

OMG, Bic that map is fantastic :P

On the subject of matching Resident Evil scenes, think in terms of Silent Hill, the detail is quite high and everything is mostly modelled so it would work ok in source.

Is the lighting any better? I'm sort of hit or miss on that subject - but once I get something that looks good I sure can run with it :cool:

Personally, I think the lighting - so far, is an improvement over what I had - but I'm interested in what you guys think.

In other news, koko gave me the pimp monkey to proudly display as an avatar.

It is a great improvement, but I think it would look better with more of a blue color scheme, kinda like de_prodigy, then mabey find away to incorporate some orange or dark yellow lights near the wall.

I was thinking of having spotlights shine on the wall that is on the far right of the screen... The lights wil be on the ground shining at the top of the wall - I think that'd be neat with the train going by and everything (yes, there will be a train running past the platform).

I'll try soem things out and get back to you guys tomarrow.

ny subways are actually very birght, i think your proglem is the blurryness of the light. if you look in the picture, everything is lit including the ceiling, the one thing that stands out is that the pillars cast a nice shadow, you should try to work on getting them to cast shadows from the light on the left

i'd recommend looking at the subways in max payne, they did an excellent job

use the little directional dial to orient it. Yeah, trains are a pain in the ass. They take way too much work. They're buggy. They fuck up multiplayer. But for some masochistic reason, Valve keeps them around.
