Mazy Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I certainly hope that they plan to work on the inconsistency between the speed the character is travelling at and the actual animation. It looked slightly off in the reveal trailer they released and here it really looks bad. Oh and I see they took it down, guess it wasn't an intentional leak after all Anyway, I'm gonna keep my expectations flat on the ground, don't wanna get disappointed Quote
Taylor Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Well ofc... why would you intentionally leak someone, who doesn't know you should roll when moving fast, showing off the broken physics :x Quote

PogoP Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Sonic's animation looks absolutely terrible! Quote
Sentura Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 so halfway through the video sonic turns into a super sayan. wait, what? sonic should be less about loops and confusing repetitive level design and more about keeping yourself sane under pressure, as shown here: labyrinth was and is still the best part of the sonic games that featured those levels. best theme mechanic! also the guy is also kinda funny, so points there. -HP- Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Posted May 10, 2010 lol, sentura doesn't know about super sonic. Quote
Sentura Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 oh i just love the amount of well thought out replies i get here. Quote
PogoP Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 What Sentura said is true here... Don't be haters just for the sake of it. Quote
Warby Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 i hated those water levels ! sonic is about runnning fast and collecting coins and running through loops not about slow sticky core mechanics under water and breathing in air bubbles ! Quote
PogoP Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 To me, those levels were always a major part of Sonic. They used to scare the hell out of me! A lot of Sonic levels had these underwater mechanics, such as the Labyrinth Zone, Chemical Plant Zone, Aquatic Ruin (?) Zone... Fun, in a really stressful way! Quote
Sentura Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 i always disliked the whole loop running fast thing. it seemed to unnecessary: you missed much of the levels (which was apparently the point ), you confused with where you were in the level progress and where you had to go, and it just wasn't fun. i mean, in the beginning i might have thought it was cool to see sonic run around in loops every single fucking level, but holy shit it got old fast. the whole point i'm trying to make here is that sonic had some excellent level design in the first game, but it went downhill from there (see above). i think that's partly the reason for the failure of the series over time.
