I started on this a few months ago when I released l4d_abattoir, aside from a notepad-created page of screenshots it's the first website I've ever made so I thought I'd play to my strengths and keep it as simple as possible. I need to get round to making the root directory link to the main page, I also don't have any textures/models up on there yet and might eventually add a section for music too.

Is it too simple? I'm thinking it might look too much like it was done in notepad in 15 minutes because of the minimalist style and colours, I'm also not sure if people can work out that clicking on the main screen for each map takes you to more info.

It feels far too bright and the images are not connected to the page in anyway. You need some borders, a background, an image friendly colour scheme so you can place different screenshot styles on the same page. Also talk about yourself in some way, thoughts, musings, ideas, sketches, tell us why you created certain levels, why did creating them, what happening during, any problems, things you fixed, etc

I disagree, I really like that it's this super simple. White background can be a bit bad with pictures of course, but since you have that popupscript which also darkens the background I don't see a problem with it :)

I'm not sure why you have just 3 screenshots of each level under the big picture, when you press the picture you come to a screenshot page of that map with more screens... I would probably just have the big screen of each level on the front page then and then keep the screens pages you get to as they are now. Would probably look even cleaner and nicer imo then :)

Workwise it's some really good stuff in there :)

I might edit the Lightbox script so the background is darker when the images pop-up, I don't think the dark-light contrast is so much of a problem with the thumbnails though.

I see what you mean about the screens on the main page, I put them there so you don't have to browse away to bring up the screens. I'm working on 2 other maps that aren't on there yet though, plus a couple more I'm planning to start soon so once all those are on there I'll probably have to leave in just the one main image to save space.

It actually doubles up as a place to host my maps when I release them (should I create separate pages for that to save including stuff like install info on this one?) which is why there isn't too much info like you talked about. I'll keep all that in mind for when I do eventually update it though.
