Daze Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 Hallo to you I'm Dan, I've been a silent lurker around here for quite some time now, and figured this thread would be a nice way to introduce myself. I'm currently studying game design on university level here in Stockholm, at a school called Futuregames Academy. Pew pew: http://www.danbanefelt.se/ Feedback and random thoughts welcome. Quote
FrieChamp Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Awesome looking levels, but I strongly suggest to change the navigation!! I was irritated at first because I couldn't find a section with more samples of your work. It took me 2 minutes to see that there is a scroll bar at the bottom and the site continues to the right. Nysuatro Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 You can maybe make a more visual attractive an nitocable slidebar at the bottum of your site self. Or even a button that brings you to the next map. Quote
Pomperi Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Lots of high quality work in here for sure. I for one kind of enjoyed the unconventional navigation, but since it's not obvious I suggest you make it more clear that the page continue, because it would be a shame if they missed out the rest of your work because of something as simple as page layout. 2d-chris Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 I can't find it either, maybe its some kind of puzzle ;P Quote
-HP- Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Oh, there's a scroll bar at the bottom? I didn't noticed that the first time I visited your site. get that fixed man! other than that, awesome portfolio! Quote
Minos Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Welcome Dan! That's some nice work you got there. But I'd like to know why UT3 mappers put so much visual noise/contrast in their maps. That's one of the reasons I can't stand playing it too much to be honest. The Bad Vibrations level looks specially busy. The starkstrom level on the other hand looks cool, has a nice atmosphere and seems to have the right amount of details and depth. The Warsow map is my favourite of the bunch. It looks amazing and stylish. That's a Quake 3 based game isn't it? Lastly, I agree with others. Make the horizontal scroll nature more visible because I'd never notice it if others didn't mention it here. Quote
e-freak Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 i hadn't had any problems spotting the scrollbar but you can easily help it alot with a high-contrast "spotlight" above the scrollbar to guide the user's eye there shitty overpaint, should do the trick. Quote

Daze Posted August 25, 2009 Author Report Posted August 25, 2009 Point taken Thanks guys, I'll see what I can cook up. And yep, Minotauro, Warsow is Q3 based using a modded engine version called Qfusion. Quote
