Well, i saw that this other dude had converted the best map in the world over to source. GREAT i thought, and then i saw the pictures...

bleh... he should've named it cs_estate...

Good old mansion is the best map simply because it is so incredibly easy, ugly, and blocky... I made my own version, its basicly just the old mansion with new textures....

it fucking ownz, its just like playing cs_mansion on the old cs engine, except its a little bit sexier with ragdolls

Only thing ive update is adding a little basement (didnt add anything to gameplay, so why not). I also made everything a little rounder (pilars, birdstatuething), sewer. And I updated the hedges a little (clipped it so it works just like the old ones)... Its basicly the exact same inside, except everything is models now... (mainly taken from cs_office)

lol what would you expect? This is Source! And that map of yours looks worse then the orginal. I will stop the flaming now, but I dont see why you pimp this one? To be one of the first with a playable CSS map? If you realy had put some effort in it it could be nice but seeing this awesome engine beeing raped makes me cry..

the only reason i did this, was because the only map ive played the last 4 years (when playing cs), is cs_mansion... I have it in my blood, i know everything there is to know about this map... And i know that the reason why this map plays so good (among me and my friends), is because its the way it is, i just didnt want to ruin that with overload of stuff that tampers with playability... besides, those extra r_speeds you mentioned... they are all used in my oppinion, this is basicly one huge are where you can almost see everything wherever you are in the map... :/

It doesn't look that bad for a map released so shortly after the Source SDK. However, I feel that a lot more brushing up and polishing can be done.

This is the Source engine we're talking about after all.
