":1feha7eq]Curious how this game is getting almost no love here in the core!

I had the chance to attend a character art presentation in this years GDC and I loved it! Also spoke with some of the peeps from Splash Damage, awesome guys. What these guys are doing is a really big achievement, especially considering how tiny the team is.

This game might own TF2 fun wise! To me this game sounds like a sallad bowl of TF2 + Mirror's Edge + Quake! Fuck yeah man!

yeah but then look at all the hacking and shit, it takes like 5 seconds to "hack" a turret, and longer to set it up (that welding torch looks so pointless) and .. my god all the canned aniamtions for doing things just take forever.

now look at tf2, where the spy can just run past and slap down a sapper, or capping intel and shit is done so quickly. it just seems to me that they have a lot of things that don't seem like they are needed, and yet you have to stand there holding a button watching a bar fill up, and the rest of the game is flowing past you at speed, yet there you are standing still watching boring naimations play over and over again.

know what i am saying?

Wolf: ET did something sort of similar (capturing CP, setting dynamite, repairing the tank, using special items) all had a progress meter or a special bar that very slowly filled up. No animations besides your wrench wiggling in front of you or what have you, but still that delay as you needed to do things in an otherwise very fast paced game. I felt that it worked really well because your teammates had to cover you, or you took a big risk accomplishing something like repairing the tank. I almost always played engineer so I almost always had to deal with those progress meters, and I never got bored by it, instead it was suspenseful because of the risk I would take focusing on the job instead of combat.

Spies are for faggots and engineers are noobs who cant aim so hide behind their shit turrets. I don't care about looks an animations; I want some fluid fun action! I play a 9 year old game competitively still.

Notice how I'm putting all my hope and desire into this game rick! Don't ruin my dreaaammmssss I am starved of a good multiplayer online game. Tf2 is shit and bfbc2 is full noobs who keep banning me for hacking.

that's a very good point!

The many cuts to black that last two or three seconds between clips got annoying. I hope that was an error with the video (or maybe an abysmally poor choice in style), instead of Splash Damage having some truth in advertising or something :v

Gameplay looks damn good though. Wanna parkour through a battle and rez people almost as much as I want Portal 2's SDK.
