Algor Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 This game is badass. Not even a fan of racing games, but I love it. Quote

PaulH Posted September 25, 2009 Author Report Posted September 25, 2009 Was jsut watching some trailers for it, looks REALLY cool. Then it goes inside the cockpit with the driver and... oh dear. It looks like their budget ran out when it came to modelling and animating the driver The driver looks fine At least Dirt has shifting animations (NFS Shift) and windshields in the cockpits (Forza) Plus the driver bounces around while driving and the co-driver does too, i actually think they're animated well. If you play Forza 3 and look at the drivers in their cars they are sat rigid and bolt upright, no animations at all really ":2q53xl64]This game is badass. That was part of the aim i think, mass market appeal and accessibility, which i think it does really well. My brother loves it and he's never played a racing game before. Games like Forza are great if you love your car porn, but for the full on racing package and just the pure fun aspect of it all, Dirt does really well I realise i sound like i work in promotions by the way but i don't see anything wrong with actually liking a title i worked on I'd have enjoyed this game even if i had nothing to do with it, as i did with Dirt 1 Quote

But you don't really see much in a racing game at the speed you travel, do you? And that all still manages to look good. Quote
Ginger Lord Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 PC Demo? NFS:Shift demo was ok, was expecting more CRASH though when battering objects. Even on high its pretty clean and no dust/debris Quote
PaulH Posted September 25, 2009 Author Report Posted September 25, 2009 PC demo will be out nearer the time of the PC release, i.e. Nov/Dec, they are working on incorporating DX11 into it at the mo Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 k, im hijacking my roommates xbox tomorrow and getting the demo Quote
Erratic Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Dirt 2 is the best driving game with the worst presentation style ever. The menu system is really neat, but goddam if I have to hear Dave Mirra tell me how awesome a dude I am and how whicked my last lap was I'm gonna kill some body. Quote
Defrag Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 If the menu system is anything like GRID, then I'd probably strangle someone, too. Really, really cool and slick, but so so very grating after about 3 minutes of it. Quote
Mazy Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 I totally love the menu system in both DiRT games and GRiD, but each to their own I guess Quote
