Squirrelly Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Had an interesting conversation with a friend when Daylight by Matt & Kim came on, about how some songs just somehow possess the power no matter how down in the dumps you are to brighten your day. I always thought that was amazing how music of all things holds such a capacity. Coldplay is a prime example, in my opinion. If I throw on one of their albums I just can't help but be in a happy-go-lucky mood, almost childlike... I'm a grown man dancing my heart out at 4:00 in the morning for no apparent reason other than being in an awesome, cheerful mood, simply due to a song! Does anyone else have songs that do that for them? Quote
Duff-e Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 lol how high were you when this conversation happened. then again you wouldn't have been down in the first place if you were high. not a big fan of matt and kim. I get the "trying too hard to act like we're not trying too hard' vibe from them. saw them on the L train once heading to brooklyn at like 3am ;D Quote

Duff-e Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 I could be in the middle of a school shooting and this song would mellow me out. also I'm extremely envious of blink 182. they probably got more pussy between the 3 of them in the late 90's/early 00's than any person on earth. Quote
FrieChamp Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 When I saw the thread title I was immediately thinking of/going to post "Matt & Kim - Dalight"...scary Quote

Steppenwolf Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Btw. it's interesting that you mention Coldplay as music that makes you always happy because for me it is the complete opposite, their music always makes me sad and depressed. I guess it's just the fact that their music has a very emotional sound in generell and if you get happy or sad from it depends on the life experiences that you made while listening to it for the first time. Much like Trance music. Quote
JeanPaul Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 This times a million holy shit the first time I heard the Happy up Here single I pooped everywhere in excitement Also this song puts me in a good mood too for some reason, maybe its the fact that I map 1000times faster with this song playing Quote
