Tailgunner Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Death race - cars + ppl controlled by nerds Quote
jaboo224 Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 according to others the whole prisoners fighting for their freedom thing is a secondary plot. I have bad expectations for this movie tbh... However i will go see it for michael c hall and gerard i can only hope there is some slow motion sword fights and rooms covered in plastic ;P Quote
jaboo224 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Ok i just saw this movie..... its shitty.... wow... However the opening big battle in the game has some of the best angles i have seen in a firefight but they completely ruin it by cutting to a different angle every .5 seconds!!! some of the shittiest editing ever.... Thats how movies are done these days, you rarely see longer cuts, sometimes i just want to vomit. They should put epilepsy warning on every movie these days lol. Quote
e-freak Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 you could always just watch 2001so if todays movies are too fast for you but i certainly enjoy that "michael bay"esque cutting. it really helps transporting dynamics and speed. Quote
Pampers Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 they completely ruin it by cutting to a different angle every .5 seconds!!! go watch children of men Quote
Erratic Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 you could always just watch 2001 How...what...no... Quote
Izuno Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 OMG the cutting every .5 seconds issue...that was my (only) problem with the otherwise excellent Bourne movies. And I felt it really damaged District 9. Not that I was going to see Gamer but FFS wtf is with this type of cinematography+editing these days that ruins movies. Quote
jaboo224 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 District 9 and the bourne series have better cuts than this Izuno.... This is to the point of wtf is going on..... 3 people left the theatre right off the hop. Quote
Seldoon182 Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I would prefer watching the newest Uwe Boll movie than that Hollywood shit! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSRSoncoV4k Quote
Low Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 they completely ruin it by cutting to a different angle every .5 seconds!!! go watch children of men I agree, children of men is a great film based on the long cuts and cinematography alone. Quote
Section_Ei8ht Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Saw it last night. My friends and I were somewhat drunk and were looking for a movie that we could "Mystery Science Theater 3000" our way through, and that's exactly what we got. The movie is _horrible_. We had a great time making fun of it all the way through, though I am, however, glad that I saw this movie because now I can answer "Yes" to the question "Have you ever seen Ludacris play Air-Hockey?". (The movie did have two things in it that I thought was highly appropriate and highly awesome: 1.) At the very beginning during the first battle, about two seconds after I leaned to my buddy and remarked "This is a highly inaccurate representation of online game play. I don't see any teabagging", a clip shows one of the slayers teabagging a dead body with an off-screen voice yelling "Quit fucking teabagging!". [although this was probably more of a "you had to be there" moment, because of the timing] 2.) Near the end, Kable confronts Castle, and a fight ensues between Kable and Castle's mind-controlled goons singing and dancing to the tune of "I’ve Got You Under My Skin" from Sammy Davis, Jr. I found that to be hilarious, awesome, and quite appropriate.) mariatamis0 Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 since allot of the negative remarks about this movie obviously come from people that don't understand the first person shooter gaming , id be tempted to say shut up the lot of you..but i wont lol great movie first person shooter pleaser for sure. could have been a little bit better in parts. but apart from that 4/5 great watch.
