Merc248
My question to you guys: what can you see in the map that could be added? Any sort of general map ideas that you can infer from this?
Merc248
Oh yeah.. and how does one make a smooth indented road leading up to a straight road? Do you guys use the displacement maps for that purpose?

Merc248
Why are hollowed cubes bad anyway? I mean, it seems like it does what most people do manually in one step. :x
von*ferret
bad brush work, less control over brushes when creating, can increase wpoly due to bad brushwork, ect ect ect. You're silly if you are doing that.
Taylor
The only problem is that the actual result is not the best way to construct a box, i.e there are more than corners touching (but it's not like that really matters anyway). It just teaches bad practices, that's all. Making a box using hollow isn't going to create any more wpoly or bad brushwork, and subtractive engines use blocks for rooms anyway. ginsengavenger
bad practices? i think that point is debatable :/
Tailgunner
If you have a leak, and put a big hollow box around the map, the light will go out trough that leak, and the compiler will compile the WHOLE room to calculate klightning and such. Tequila
It's just lazy and inefficient, the block tool.
