Biohaz@rd Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 Hi, I'm the leader of The Last Citizen team. Our MOD is a singleplayer experience for HL1, based in the Resident Evil plotline, but without any "direct relation" with Raccoon City, or resident evil events. We're doing heavy engine modifications (real mirrors, cube-mapping, new physics engine, etc) and a lot of new things you've never seen in HL. We also have a totally new story BASED in RE and a lots of cool features. We also plan to port the MOD to Source when it's finished. You can check (If you want) our website at http://tlcmod.mybesthost.com We need some help with the 2d art, and taking into account that here I've seen GREAT textures made from scratch, I wish to know If someone could help us. We also need some help with texturing the models (UV maps, skinning, etc). You can apply for a job if you want to, at our website by clicking in "Contact Us" or by sending an e-mail at thelastcitizen@gmail.com Thanks for your time
slicky Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 there is no way you will get all those features into hl1. Why would you build features from a new engine into an old one instead of just using the new engine?
Biohaz@rd Posted November 22, 2004 Author Report Posted November 22, 2004 The most "beautiful" features (physics, mirrors, etc) are already coded and working(well,we have to solve some bugs, yet), and the main reason why we are doing this instead of use Source code, it's because those features were already implemented a few months ago, just before HL-2 came to light. The other reason is that Source can make mirrors and have great physics systems by its own, and that cannot demostrate if our team is doing a good job or not. Have you ever seen Havok-like physics in HL? I haven't. :-o Sorry for the double post. Can anyone delete THIS thread? Thanks
kleinluka Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 The point is nobody cares if you make mirrors work in HL or not. The engine is 6 years old and Source is out. Starting a mod for HALF-LIFE 1 at this point is pointless.
Biohaz@rd Posted November 24, 2004 Author Report Posted November 24, 2004 Actually, the MOD was started about 6 months ago...
