Thrik Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Gotta say, I'm fairly reassured by those magazine scans. It looks like it does still largely take place in Brazil, but we're going to see the events between him being a somewhat restored NYC cop and a ruined private security agent in Brazil. Considering the main theme of Max Payne has always been him losing everything, this should work quite nicely. I'd glad we get to experience that, rather than simply starting the game as this bum like everyone assumed. The key thing is that aesthetically the game now looks pretty awesome and completely in the vein of Max Payne. Pretty much all the screenshots have a distinctly shadow-filled noir atmosphere, and some of them look like they could have come right out of the preceding games. We're inevitably going to see some daytime stuff, but it seems clear that it's going to be less rather than more — and even there it looks a lot more dreary than the 2009 shots. Hope rising. Quote

Serenius Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Why the hell is Rockstar working on this instead of Remedy? Quote
-HP- Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 2k bought the IP ages ago, then Rockstar started working on it, don't know the details. Quote
Warby Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 looks like they are backpadeling a bit on location and art direction ... i may have written this one of too soon. Quote
Minos Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Seems like only a portion of the game takes place in Sao Paulo Looking forward!! Quote
Mazy Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 When I saw the latest screenshots I couldn't help thinking: Kane & Lynch I donno, don't really have any expectations at this point. LA Noire was in development hell as well, and that turned out pretty good in my opinion, so who knows, they might be able to make a solid title of it. Quote
Puddy Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Hmm. Hard to say what will become of this. To the predictotron4000! ## Analyzing Box Art ## ## Analyzing Known Details ## ## Analyzing Released Media ## -- CALCULATING RESULTS -- Possible outcome probabilities: 40% Pure shit 40% Decent game 20% Solid game Recommended anticipation level: "Meh" until proven otherwise. Thrik Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I maintain hope, but there's something very special and magical about Remedy games that is going to be hard to replicate. Quote
PogoP Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 I'm gonna remain hopeful, Max Payne 1/2 were such brilliant games. I hope the studio takes what makes it great and just builds on that! Quote
