von*ferret Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 tisky you have a horrible attitude. Quote
Tisky Posted November 23, 2004 Author Report Posted November 23, 2004 Whatever, man everybody keeps whining like im supposed to be the best person using valve hammer ever, today is the 5th day of me using it. Im doing my best already man. =( Quote
Duff-e Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 ITS OK TISKY...ALL OF THEM ARE JUST LOSERS THAT ARE SAD BECAUSE ALL THEY CAN DO IS TEXTURE YOU > THEM, IN THE BOOK OF DUFFY also, i think its time OL teams up with someone that can do 2D art Quote
Tisky Posted November 23, 2004 Author Report Posted November 23, 2004 Lol, actually before i started mapping i was into 3D and 2D. even released 2 weapon models with skins that ive made for CS back in the days Quote
Duff-e Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 shhhhhh quiet or they'll take advantage of our lies!!! Quote
ShaDoW Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 You're doing great so far. Although, be aware that you will need to 'portal' the map in later stages. By this I mean; creating hint brushes and area portals so that the Source engine doesn't render parts of the map when it's not supposed to. When you're creating environments with outdoor area's such as yourself, this is something you should keep in the back of your head. Quote
Tisky Posted November 23, 2004 Author Report Posted November 23, 2004 yeah i took a look at the de_cbble css file, to get a hang of it, seems like something i will do last. Quote
ShaDoW Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 Indeed. This is probably a good thing to do as one of the final stages, as then you have all the final brush work into place. Quote
Tisky Posted November 23, 2004 Author Report Posted November 23, 2004 Yeah, hehe. You arent dumb. Good. The gas station, more light on the "northern petrol" sign, fixed some textures and small stuff. Gas station again. Parking building, all new textures, light fixes, minor stuff. Will get smoother later Parking building again. It does look much better now, i just need to add details, and smoothen some corners. No comment. Quote
von*ferret Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I think you took my message wrong. I'm not saying you have to be the best, but when posting in the WIP forum you need to be able to take criticism and not bash people who give it to you. That is the wrong type of attitude I'm talking about. Quote
Tisky Posted November 24, 2004 Author Report Posted November 24, 2004 Hehe yeah, suppose you are right. whatever. its just weird 4 out of 5 people writing negative comments. But i dont care anymore. Quote
Duff-e Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 his attitude doesnt have to please anyone.....TELL ME TO GO FUCK MYSELF Quote
spine Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Looking good Tisky, infact surprisingly good since you've just started mapping! But I dont recognise the places from any old cs maps, that might be a good thing though. Keep'em coming! Quote
Tisky Posted November 24, 2004 Author Report Posted November 24, 2004 Thanks, well.. i wouldnt say that i just started mapping, but i just started using Valve hammer and mapping for HL2. =) so, i DO have some HL1 Quark mapping experience. Quote
kleinluka Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Hehe yeah, suppose you are right. whatever. its just weird 4 out of 5 people writing negative comments. But i dont care anymore. the comments were hardly negative. Gee, ferret even gave you suggestions on what you could improve. Thats CONTSTRUCTIVE. Listen to the criticism and use it to your advantage.
