Jetsetlemming Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 When I was 12 my older brother shot me in the ass with a paintball gun out of nowhere. It hurt Have Germany also banned lightguns yet? Or arcade booths with guns? Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Rock Paper Shotgun just linked this in an article on this topic. Very relevant. Longer version: "Broadcast from the fucking Lego Dimension" Quote
Taylor Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Charlie Brooker is great. Newswipe and Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle are the only two shows on TV I've enjoyed recently. Kind of off-topic, but more entertaining than people stuck in the mid-90's trying to ban video games again. Quote
FrieChamp Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 I was going to open a thread about this and then I remembered for how long this topic is being brought up by politicians and nothing actually happens. Take the paintball ban for example (to non-germans reading this: yes german politicians actually decided to ban paintball for the same reasons as they want to ban violent videogames) - big agenda setting by the press, huge uproar in the paintball community (for obvious reasons) and the result? They silently scrapped the ban under the table again. yeah but it never got to the point were all 16 ministers agreed on the ban and were this close to making it a law. it might actually become a reality this time around If they actually go through with it (which I do not expect) then they won't keep male teenagers from playing these games, they would just alienate them further. Anyway...idiots... Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 ":3mb1s4nc]They would just warez it! lol It's what they already do anyway, because the alternative is censored versions Quote
Sentura Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 if this ever sets in motion, will it have an effect on german studios? Quote
Steppenwolf Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 I guess this would also criminalize modders who work on fps stuff. Fucking retarded. Quote
kleinluka Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 It's time for all the german modders to make use of their EU passport and move to Austria (or the netherlands ) Quote
Deathy Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 if this ever sets in motion, will it have an effect on german studios? Quote

kleinluka Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 if this ever sets in motion, will it have an effect on german studios? Sentura doesn't speak german as far as i know Quote
Deathy Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 if this ever sets in motion, will it have an effect on german studios? Sentura doesn't speak german as far as i know Haha good point.. sadly, theres no interview in english. basically they say that they will move out of germany, if they forbid the production of violent games. What else is left anyways. Quote
-HP- Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 I don't think It's good for the German economy for Crytek (HQ) to move to another country... they are not exactly just another small company. Quote
