Yep, I believe this are the "unlockable" videos on the game, like they did with the first.

I watched the first vid on that link, but I'm watching the rest when I get the game, HD ftw.

I've split my time between SP and MP since the game came out, and I'm starting to see some of those environments from the MP show up in SP levels (won't give away which one in case you really don't want to be spoiled). On this one level, because I knew the layout so well from MP, it somehow made me extra confident in the SP game and I ran around like a madman, neck-breaking half the enemies before I decided to start shooting. If I hadn't seen the level in MP at all, I doubt I would have been as confident.

Anyway, the game is still my early choice for GOTY, certainly for the PS3. Looking forward to other games like BL, MW2, but damn, having soooooo much fun with Uncharted 2 and it's going to take something special to unseat it for me.

I'm still looking at Red Faction as this years goty. Uncharted is probably the most solid thing ever made, but I have a soft spot for the sloppy and ambitious.

Finished it yesterday. It is pretty amazing, but I had the same complaints as Taylor. It was very difficult at times to figure out what the game expected me to do, and most of the time when you deviate from that you end up dead in a frustrating manner.

The Siege

chapter was just annoying; too much impossible gunplay (damn one-shot-kill grenade launchers, but then again I like the puzzle/platformer aspect of the game more than I like the combat.

Also, concerning the ending:

The end boss fight also to me felt like an annoying joke: run around in circles, stopping every 5-10 seconds to turn around and shoot the resin. Granted, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune's end boss fight was a cakewalk of quicktime events, but at least that end fight was cinematic and had a spectacle to it. The entire game was set up that way, so it works well to have it finish that way; it all just fit nicely together. Drake's Fortune's boss fight felt like a satisfying ending to a satisfying movie, whereas Uncharted 2's was a bland boss fight hurt-the-evil-guy-in-the-only-one-way-you-can-until-he-goes-down. The spectacle of Uncharted 2's ending is probably supposed to be in escaping via the crumbling bridge, but that doesn't mean the boss fight had to be as lame as it was.

Regardless, it's still an excellent game and I'm damn glad I bought it and will play through it several times in the future. Don't know about Game of the Year, though. Right now, Uncharted 2 is taking the position of "If I can't think of a better game by the year's end, it'll be my game of the year". I hasn't really clenched the title for me.

I actually think the

last boss fight

was really good, it actually emphasized what makes Uncharted unique, the platform and shooting game play.

The only thing I would point out as being less than optimal would be the beginning of the game. Although I think their use of stealth gameplay is quite clever later in the game, making it optional and not forcing it down your throat, then the Istanbul mission did feel like a 20 minute long stealth tutorial that you didn't really need.

But then again I didn't mind it at all when I was playing it, after all, I didn't know how adrenaline pumping it would get later on

I don't want to finish it, I'm at the last (I think) chapter, have had such a good time with this game that I will probably not feel like playing another game for a year.

It has it's flaws and some areas are not as polished as most of the game, but it is easily the game I've had most fun with in years I think (except for quake live).

Yeah, the voice acting and writing is some of the best I've heard in a game. In fact, it makes this game funnier than almost any other game I've played, exactly in the same way I find Harrison Ford's characters in Raiders or Empire Strikes Back funny. It's that flying by the seat of your pants action/adventure sarcasm and irony that's easy to attempt but difficult to pull off. And yes, this does mean Uncharted 2's writing is actually quite derivative. Like I care? It's still fraktacularly awesomeh!

Cladia Black's work on the Cloe character in Uncharted 2, while not funny like Drake, was expertly done imho.

I just think she's extremely annoying and obnoxious and I hate her. I hated her in farscape, and had to stop watching the show midway through. I tried to forget her, but then she showed up in stargate sg-1 as well and ruined that show for me too.

I'm not saying she's a terrible actor or that you guys should hate her too, it was mostly just me joking a little about it, but I really do hate here and she ruined the game for me

Ah. I had no idea who the voice actor was when i started playing it so hence it was not ruins its for me. Nasty hobbitses ruins everythings!

Fair enough. I happen to like her in Farscape and I think she's a great actress/voice actress, but I see what you mean. You hate her for the same reasons I hate Jack Black, which is the reason I refuse to buy or play Brutal Legend.
