Hehe, yeah I saw the unlock in the store or something. Love those kinda extras, theres a mirror world unlock as well (flips the XY coordinates I figure, ala King Kong), and one where it mirrors everytime you die. Bet that's gonna be pretty confusing :)

Anyway, just finished it, truly epic through and through. Without a doubt one of the best games of this generation. Now I just wish I had more time for the MP, really liked the "beta" trial.

I've had two crashes in this. One in the train, and one after

finishing the rather long 3-sided gun fight in the temple towards (what I believe is) the end

. It's frozen now while I write this. I think, before this generation, the total number of game crashes I've had in a console game was one.

There's no doubting that it's fantastic, but focusing simply on how it plays only I think I had more fun playing the first one. Pretty much every other fight is a set-piece, which should be a good thing, but Uncharted still has a lot of trouble actually conveying what it expects the player to be doing. And if you are doing something different you die, so when this is so regular it's a bit of a problem. This is particularly evident in the rather ropey 'stealth' sections, but even in normal gun fights you can expect snipers, shotgun, and grenade launcher instant-kill enemies to spawn right up your arse if you didn't progress through the way the designer intended. And, like the original Uncharted, you never really know how far you can jump or drop, as it pretty much changes as the game sees fit. You can fall two inches onto a rooftop but if you're not supposed to go that way you die. Of all my deaths in Uncharted 2 98% of them were me being robbed.

But it still gets a nice healthy "fantastic" because when you are going with the flow and get momentum it is really amazing and each death has you just pop out a checkpoint so it's no big deal. The cutscenes, story, visuals, the entire package outside of that is amazing, so I'll shut up and go restart my PS3.

Edit: On the subject of this generation, I tried to play Brutal Legend after and the first thing it did was download a 256mb patch. Next we'll have to install console games on hard drives. Oh wait.

This game is pretty incredible so far. I can't remember the last game I have played so much on the same day. It has the best materials I have ever seen in a game, and the characters take the crown from MGS4. The flow got broken quite a bit for me on the mission where

the player is running from a tank

but otherwise is pretty solid. The only real gripes I have are with the cover system being a bit wonky like the first game, and picking up new weapons can be troublesome as you'll often drop your weapon right on top of the one you're trying to pick up.
