Jetsetlemming Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 http://kofler.dot.at/sshock/ I was linked to this site the other day, a collection of remixes of System Shock music (as well as remastered mp3s of midis), and listening to the SS1 intro hit me with such a strong bout of nostalgia that I started reinstalling the game right then and there. Shadowrun (sega version)'s main theme has the same effect, as does Deus Ex: IW's, and basically anything associated with Jesper Kyd (I have the OSTs to all four Hitman games + Freedom Fighters on my MP3 player). What gaming music (or imagery, or references) has this effect on you? Quote
Defrag Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Mechwarrior 2 OST. Best ever. I've got the MW2 + MW2: Mercenaries soundtracks on my HDD; great for programming background music Quote
Mazy Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 In terms of nostalgia, stuff like Doom, Sonic 1, Monkey Island 1+2, Day of the Tentacle and Keen 4. I tend to get goosebumps when I hear some of that music today, totally ingrained into my little nerdy brain from back then. In terms of just damn good soundtracks? God of War 2, Uncharted, Medal of Honor, Shadow of the Colossus, Psychonauts, The Katamari Games to name a few. Quote
Skacky Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Quake 1's is my favorite one, I have it on my mp3 player and I listen to it pretty often. I also absolutely love Diablo 1 and 2 OSTs, when I hear them I immediately want to bash monsters again, and not to mention Unreal and Deus Ex OSTs too! Quote
Buddy Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 SS2, Q2, few Hitman's, Kingpin First few that came to my mind. Quote
Taylor Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 I brought the DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu arcade board while I away in Japan (yes, it wasn't cheap) and cloying nostalgia is its every aim. During the stage 4 hidden boss (who is from DDP) the music is from DDP:DOJ... ah, nobody understands what I'm saying. It's just awesome, okay? Quote

Furyo Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 I've recently listened to the FF7 soundtrack... And I re-installed the game on my PC last night.... And I'm already 1hour in, going with Aerith to her house. Quote
