TEXTURE ARTIST:

Reporting to: Lead Artist

Job Summary: Creation of texture maps for environments and props;

Duties: Work closely with the Level Artists to create efficient UVs for texture placement.

Experience and Qualifications

* 3 to 5 years experience as a real time 3D Artist (Level Artist, Modeller, Texturer, Assistant Art Technical Director)

Technical Skills

* Demonstrate a flexibility to work with different styles, ranging from photo realistic to highly stylized

* Demonstrate strong skills in either traditional and/or digital painting

* Be experienced with Photoshop

* Experience working with multi-pass shader effects (diffuse maps, specular maps, bump maps, normal maps, etc.)

* Must have deep understanding of light and color

* Must be able to demonstrate solid traditional art skills

* Knowledge of design softwares in 2D and 3D

* Knowledge of a database system (ex : Perforce, VSS, Alienbrain)

Interpersonal Skills

* Work well within a team environment

* The ability to adapt your art to our unique style and vision

Motivation and Interests

* Ambition and passion for video games are essential!

    • [CS:GO] Shore
      One of the projects I worked on after I made de_austria.

      Yeah, I know the timing is really bad (CS2!), but can't change it... 🙁

      In general a lot went wrong during this project. Had a lot of problems with the layout, but I think I found a good compromise in the end. Also learned many new things. Maybe I would even be ready to create a really good map now after all, but I think that it's gonna be the final one. I really like making maps, but it has become too time consuming over the years for just being a hobby. Unfortunately I never managed to get a job in the games industry. So that's it. I hope it's a worthy ending of 20 years of making maps for me. 🙂

      Shore is a bomb defusal map for CS:GO that takes place on Lofoten Islands, Norway. (Also have a Hostage version of this that works well imo)
