Wunderboy Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Just a heads up to let people know that I've updated my 3D Studio Max plug-ins to support Max 2010. That would be the VTF import and SMD import/export plug-ins. The only change has been to the SMD export plug-in where I've added support for spline objects although you should only use them to influence a bone/dummy as part of your skeleton and not in place of one. Doing so will put you in a whole world of pain. I've tested them in Max 2010 32-bit but I don't perceive any issue with the 64-bit version. As always, let me know of any bugs/problems. Quote
-HP- Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Yeah, and Imho It's the only package worthy of the word update! Many addictions like all the polyboost stuff, new UI, etc. Quote
-HP- Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Like you ever paid for max update. ... Yeah, like you did! That screen looks confusing most of the menus are "collapsible" anyways, you never see an artist working with such amount of confusing buttons, and as you start to master a program such as 3dsmax, you tend to customize your own UI and hotkeys, so It's all very relative. e-freak Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 max getting maya that one maya feature - five different buttons for all the same feature Quote
Wunderboy Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 While the new features are nice I'd like to give whoever the interface designer is at Autodesk is a fscking good shoeing. Christ on a bike a 747 cockpit is less confusing that that monstrosity. And what's with the black interface? I know you can change it but bugger me... Quote
Skjalg Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 having the top toolbar thingie is something microsoft introduced with the new office... Once you learn how to use and customize it, its actually kind of ok Quote
Wunderboy Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 Woot! Tacking this on the end... I finally finished the re-write of the VTA exporter. Some code beautification to do but so far so good, all the test exports I've done have compiled with working face flexes. Quote
Wesley Tack Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 I've been using max9 since forever, and I would still prefer to keep using it but a license error suddenly keeps occurring for me and I'm gonna have to upgrade so it seems. As I see you did SMD import/export up to 2010. Any news when you will do the 2011 ones? If it would still be a while then perhaps I'll just get 3DSmax 2010 instead. No pressure! thanks Quote
