Thrik
Wow, that impressed the absolute shit out of me. I can't even work out how they do that. I did a bit of Googling and it's a special movie Philips commissioned for marketing their new 21:9 televisions, which I guess you'd call wide widescreen. Their site for it is here: http://www.cinema.philips.com/?ls=gb_en I bet it looks absolutely amazing on those TVs, or any HD television for that matter. Mazy
Aye its a pretty cool ad and TV. The commentaries on the video are pretty terrible tho
Jenn0_Bing
The commentaries on the video are pretty terrible tho The commentaries are just more sales pitch, disappointing really. The Film itself is great though, I've been trying to find a decent quality download of it.

Mazy
Just saw one of those TV's for real, they're pretty cool, but the only ones that had in the store were like 40"ish. Still think that for someone who mainly uses their TV for games, then its kind of a gimmick. But for movies its definitely interesting. Thrik
Definitely a home cinema enthusiast thing, I think. The backlight idea is cool though, as I always see it recommended you have subtle lighting behind your screen to make LCDs look their best (no true blacks on LCDs yet, although plasmas are closer). I still regularly encounter TV shows that are in 4:3, never mind 21:9. And seeing as modern games are designed for 16:9 nowadays, playing them on those TVs will give you something even worse than horizontal black bars: vertical black bars. Buddy
21:9 for games makes sense only for supermario tbh
