Grin Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Sorry to say this, but there is absolutely no way we are going to see this mod coming out. Why you ask? Well you have started the whole thing from the wrong end. Only thing you have is a story and a website, by yourself you seem to have wery little skill to create a such thing. If you really want to create a mod, have at least a core team before you start building the idea too far. You don't need a website before there's something to put in. There's no need to pimp material that can't possibly make it in game. Long story short, it lacks everything that is needed to get a mod to play.
McRouni Posted November 28, 2004 Author Report Posted November 28, 2004 Ohh yea.. I can always do everything myself if I dont get any help... Thats for sure..
ShaDoW Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 You have to understand that a lot of us hardcore modders here, have grown skeptic over the years on the topic of starting modifications. I think most of us have seen projects being launched with a big grin on their face, and died with many sad tears. I really wouldn't even be suprised if many here (including me) were even involved with such events (not that we cried or anything though, it's a metaphorical thing). I for one can only say; good luck with your future endeavour's.
kleinluka Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Ohh yea.. I can always do everything myself if I dont get any help... Thats for sure.. Did you actually read what Fletch and I wrote? It's not like we are saying these things to piss you off, you know.
insta Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Dude, seriously, I see no way of this mod every making it to beta phase. Hell, you'll be lucky to make it to internal alpha. What you need to do is spend a few years (yes, years. It takes that long) and work on whatever it is you do (on your website it only says Leader, so I don't know if you actually have something to bring to the project). The only way people will even consider joining your project is if you have some quality work to show off. I realize that I'm just repeating what other people have already said, but sweet jesus, it needs to be said over and over until you understand.
Taylor Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Insert a reiteration of Fletch and Kleinluka's posts here.
Tequila Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Insert a reiteration of Fletch and Kleinluka's posts here. I'll have one of those too, please.
marque_pierre Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 There are a lot of interesting and very sobering thougths in this thread. Sad ones too. I think, at the end of the day, the people who really desperately want to make games, will make them whether they are paid to do so or have a team to share the work. There is ALWAYS something you can do, even as a one-man band. Boy, have I joined and believed many a mod team (leader) or stand alone amateur games, and gotten some practise, and wasted time on things that never became anything. My question to you guys who have obviously been around the block a few more times than me, how do you spot a team with a figting chance of making it?
Rovient Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Here's a mod with a fighting chance of making it Marque... Forsaken And I can assure you the leaders are as honest and trustworthy as they come. [/shameless plugging]
Fletch Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 pleae don't hijak somebody else's help wanted thread.
McRouni Posted November 29, 2004 Author Report Posted November 29, 2004 I agree with postman... This thread haven't actually helped me at all... I just have had few advices but...
