Try reinstalling winsock. I have a winsock fix utility if you need it.

these are all the errors i got after the installation. i clicked retry till it suddenly, magically worked. took about one hour :S

the game is reaaaally nice so far, though.

This issue should be solved now, through one of the recent Steam updates.
