Rick_D Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 This was an interesting post on the IW forums in relation to the 60% figure that has been thrown around by some spokesmen: http://www.private-servers.info/CallOfDuty4.html http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php? ... &game=cod4 Pirated servers: Servers - 141 Max players - 3646 Legitimate servers: Servers - 13245 Max players - 266326 Total amount of servers: 141+13245=13386 Percentage of pirated servers: 141/13386*100=1.05% Total amount of players: 3646+266326=269972 Percentage of pirated players: 3646/269972*100=1.35% Quote
D3ads Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Those screens look pretty damn nice, except for a couple of things I noticed: Jesus statue... made of Lego? A building so blurred that close is not cool, looks like a HL2 skybox prop where they forgot to add LODs to the tower. Yeah... Quote

JohnC Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Jesus statue... made of Lego? They tore down the original Jesus statue and replaced it with a LEGO duplicate in 2002. It was a cheap ploy for tourism, but it worked. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 The first gamer that tells me that's something he'll notice in game gets a perma ban from these forums from me That Jesus statue thing seems like it'd be pretty obvious, I mean, it's a really important landmark. I only have an SDTV though so I wouldn't notice it Quote
Rick_D Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 yeah, after looking at some images, the one in MW2 is kinda lol, but i wonder how much you will actually notice it in the game - not just a particularly angled still screenshot. i would be more concerned with how fuck-ugly this guy is: i can't get over his stance either, he looks like he has no crotch. that better not be soap mctavish - we were playing as a eunuch all along! Jetsetlemming Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Haha wow, didn't notice that guy. Looks like his giant forehead was caved in by a baseball bat Either that or his entire face has been scrunched down unnaturally into the bottom 1/2 of his head Quote

D3ads Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 The building is one thing, personally couldn't care less but when you're showing press screenshots it should look the best it can and something like that is automatically an eyesore. The Lego Jesus statue... words fail me, I'm wondering if IW or kotaku have done this diliberately to see how many people notice and that "guy" Rick, is supposed to be Mr Soap Mctavish, whom you played in the first MW Quote
Pampers Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Oh come on, this is just nitpicking. Overall the screens look good. A few pages back you were all masturbating over this game, but after the dedicated server incident it seems everyone wants to rip it apart. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/10/23/twilight-clans/ The comic's funny, but the article that goes with it is based on some dumb troll logic. Apparently it's PC gamers' fault that they're making IW.net for not buying the DLC they never even attempted to sell to us in the first place. Quote
