The game trailers episode was good and the new trailer got me really hyped again. I am getting it regardless though, asTesco took the £30 for my pre-order the second I confirmed it.

Sounds like the death streak could balance things a lot more or people who are not as good.

You've got be kidding? No dedicated server will kill the sales, there's already thousands of people moaning about having no dedicated servers in OFP:DR, in MW2 we'd be talking millions of threads on the IW forums about the same thing! Insanity.

Yeah, because I bet they're expecting the PC version to be their biggest seller :roll:

It does suck tho, we were planning on having MW2 replace TF2 as our official lunch game at work, but this might make it less optimal (Altho I guess it'll be fine to just host it on a regular player server )

I'm glad, basically. It was really losing its shine to me and just kinda looks ugly. All the gameplay videos just show a spamfest of screen text i.e. kill streak, who you killed and the gamertag, what challenge you just did, to the point where it looks like something from Ghost in the Shell.

And the way it's crammed with every trendy futureweapon kids ask for is just yuck. SCAR, ACR, Tavor, Kriss, AA-12, it's complete fanservice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, here, but wasn't Call of Duty 4 one of if not the best selling PC game of 2007, despite coming out around the same time as Crysis, UT3, ETQW, and The Orange Box?

Yup, and it still sold like only 1/10th the copies on the xbox. But what I do not understand is why console gamers don't demand more, I mean a lot of things that make online suck on console are not inherent to the platforms, like dedicated server support. When you sell 10+ million copies on a platform, I would expect you want to please your customers that much more, and I would expect the customers to look at the PC and ask why they can't have that.

That's not the point. It did damn good for a PC game despite loads of competition, and it wasn't perfect, either. Remember pnkbstrA.exe? I do. Just like I remember people wanting airstrikes and helicopters as SERVER OPTIONS.

What IMO is the biggest problem with no dedicated servers, is to make friends. On XBL, I have no friends that I play games with. None. Got some randoms on my list, which I've played a few rounds with, but that's it. On PC games, I can join servers that are affiliated with communities I like etc.

Oh, I miss the Gamespy Arcade days, staging areas is da bomb.

But seriously, it just feels like it is dieing. After seeing how worthless Operation Flashpoints Multiplayer is, now MW2. Lets hope BF3 will cater to the pc guys!
