-HP- Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Max Payne 3, developed by Rockstar Vancouver, tells the story of a retired police detective embroiled in a world of corruption, turmoil and intense violence. The award-winning Max Payne franchise put players in the role of Max Payne, a hard-boiled New York City detective with a penchant for violence, out to avenge the death of his family. The latest installment delivers more of the classic elements and hyper-intense action that fans have come to love, while moving the story of Max in a new direction. "We’re starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation." Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out. Max Payne 3 will be available in winter 2009 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. http://www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/ I bet it will come out before Alan Wake lol... I wonder what the hell is happening at Remedy, oh well, Rockstar guys knows what their doing so here's hope! Quote

So same again, then? Yawn. Another sequel. Some new IP please Mr developers. Quote
Furyo Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 I don't mind if it's well done. It's not like they put out a new MP game every year... Quote
Sentura Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 they don't pull a new halo or killzone every year either, but that doesn't mean the games are going to be good. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Didn't they already announce and then abandon MP3 once already? Plus if you wanna get pedantic MP2's ending credits announce MP3. I like Max Payne and would gladly play another if it was made as well as MP2. There's nothing inherently wrong with a sequel or continuation of an old IP. New IPs are nice but that doesn't mean you should decry every single sequel. Quote
Thrik Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Max Payne was an absolutely superb pair of games, so I thoroughly welcome this. Quote

Sentura Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 i might add that in the same way that bethesda made fallout 3 more like oblivion, there's a good chance that rockstar will skew the game more towards gta. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 You do realize Rockstar published Max Payne 2 as well, right? And they've made non-GTA style games, unlike Bethesda and Oblivion style games? Manhunt, Table Tennis, Max Payne, etc? Quote
mjens Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Rockstar loves to annaunce game without any screens... That doesn't change that I'm waiting for that title Cool, but RS might do some crap from that title... Quote
