Tequila Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 MMORPGs bore me to tears, so sadly I'm not excited about this or any other game in the genre. Quote

Taylor Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 I'm on 89% guys, if all accounts are gone this would be very disappointing. You sign up, THEN you get the download. How did you manage that one? Too many other games atm, no time for this (Im not that excited about WOW anyway tbh) Blizzard Quote
FrieChamp Posted November 16, 2004 Author Report Posted November 16, 2004 ??? I downloaded it via the link I posted in this thread Quote
Taylor Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Only lame people read the inital post... ... But regardless, you can't create accounts anymore, haven't been able to for a while. The system Blizzard had, before whomever decided to upload it, consisted of you rushing for an account (500,000 available - not "open" in the traditional sense) and, if succesful, getting a D/L link. FrieChamp Posted November 17, 2004 Author Report Posted November 17, 2004 Yea it's a kind of open closed beta  Quote
Minos Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 WoW is actually the only MMORPG that I'd like to try, but as we cant create any new accounts anymore, fuck it  oh and talking about mmorpgs, we now have a brazilian server for ragnarok, should I try this one ? I know it looks nice from the screenies but I hate "slow" games, like u have to spend 4 weeks to increase ur level Quote
Taylor Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Beta is over, the europe beta starts on the 23rd (release date for the US version) so sign up for that if you're interested by visiting the website on the 23rd and slapping "create account" (no downloading first). I got into the US beta (and robbed your beta slot) so I'd imagine you should be able to get into this one if you want a trial. Quote
Mojo Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I enjoyed this game when I was in the closed beta, but had to give it up a few months ago knowing full well that a lot of other kick ass games were going to come out. I didn't want to miss these games adn was sort of getting bored with WoW, even though it was rather fun. Quote
slicky Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 MMORPGS are an odd game genre. When you are actually playing them, you are never enjoying it, its more like life. You continue on with the expectation of things getting better if you keep going. "Ive been killing rats of handsome appearance for 10 hours and i think my brain is hemorrhaging, but everything will be better once i find the sword of senseless destruction." I downloaded the free 15 day trial of asheron's call 2 one night kinda recently without really expecting to play it. And now 2 weeks of my life are gone with nothing to show for it but carpal tunnel syndrome and the sword of senseless destruction in a locked account. Im now considering buying WoW, to the future chagrin of my friends and girlfriend in particular. But likely i wont because im a cheapskate and my sense of justice prevents me from paying 15$ a month for "server maintenance." Someone ought to sneak into the everquest server room at night and maintenance their servers with a baseball bat. But then all the zombies would be released from their basement apartments and the world would no longer be habitable for "topsiders." Quote
Taylor Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 I enjoyed every minute of WoW personally, except when I was running back to my corpse (but that was my own stupid fault), mainly because while I was spending most of time killing the same thing over and over for the sake of "quests," I could quite happily start crafting, exploring or raiding at any given moment. And there was always some disgruntled horde player running around whom the entire zone has to track down and kill because he's totally not from around these parts. And experience unlike, say, Anarchy Online which had the entertainment factor of me skewering both my testicles on a kebab. Quote
