Mazy Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Teaser up http://movies.yahoo.com/premieres/11990378 Not totally sure what to make of it, but I still think (and hope!) that QT+WW2 could be one mean combo. Quote
-HP- Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 ah ah, indeed! Awesome teaser, can't wait! Quote
dux Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 I'm a big WW2 buff and I REALLY do not know what to make of this at all. Is it trying to be cheesy and at the same time a bit off point? Quote
JAL Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I read the script last year when it was leaked to teh internets. It's an excellent story, not very historically correct though . The teaser is about as ridiculous as I expect the actual movie to be. Quote
-HP- Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 So, this is all "made up", no "based on true events" thingie? Quote

Is it trying to be cheesy and at the same time a bit off point? It's a remake of the original inglorious bastards, which was a cheesy as hell 70ies b-movie (its awesome) Quote
Thrik Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 From what I've seen the storyline is only very loosely tied to Inglorious Bastards, and wouldn't really be considered a remake — more of a nod to the inspiration, I think. I have a habit of enjoying Tarantino films so I'm sure this will be no exception. Quote

Seldoon182 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Nein! Nein! Nein! Nein! Nein! Awesome! Quote
st0lve Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I thought it was suppose to be a remake? But I didn't recognize anything. But, it sure will be good Quote
Warby Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 until the hitler "nein" scene i thought this looks pretty good but than it just dipped too deep into the cheese Quote

Sindwiller Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 So, anybody went to see it? It is, definitely, one of QT's special films. What impressed me the most though is that many scenes could just as well be from an European movie - not because they also speak (real) German, French and some Italian in the movie (they even got Till Schweiger and the guy from Die Fetten Jahre Sind Vorbei), but the pace, some situations the characters are put into could be those of a French movie for example There's nonetheless enough American action and exaggeration (like the last scene where Brad Pritt carves a svastika onto an SS official's forehead and the mask is totally gross and stuff, still well made though) and some awesome black humour (but not enough imho^^). Despite that I'd give this movie a 5 out of 6, it's still a movie that's totally worth the money (in my case 16 CHF) Quote
Mazy Posted August 28, 2009 Author Report Posted August 28, 2009 I donno, I kinda lost interest in this movie from what I saw in the trailers tbh. But I'll pick it up when comes on Blu-ray, just can't be bothered to go watch it in a cinema tho. Quote
