Blunkka Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 I really like the thunderstorm. I guess having a bit more sky included could enhance it further but overall, the strongly contrasting colors work really nicely. Quote
Satyre Posted March 17, 2009 Author Report Posted March 17, 2009 Thanks I was really lucky to have a such exposure on the vertorama one. The sky was very dark in the background while the hill was lit by a short rift in clouds. Quote
Satyre Posted March 20, 2009 Author Report Posted March 20, 2009 The two black stripes aren't really fine, I know... Click to enlarge Click to enlarge Quote
DvS Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 I like both shots a lot, although the composition of the lower one is a bit weird, you have trees with vertical lines and then you have felled trees with diagonal lines leading you out of the picture. The top and bottom borders on the first one aren't that bad tbh, they accentuate the horizontal flow of the composition. Keep up the good work Quote
Satyre Posted March 23, 2009 Author Report Posted March 23, 2009 Thank you. you have trees with vertical lines and then you have felled trees with diagonal lines leading you out of the picture. That's what I like on this Finally, I got my Photomatix licence a few days ago : ) Sunrise's track .:HDR:. (3 shots with standard exposures (-2EV, 0EV, +2EV)) Click to enlarge And a vertorama of an amazing sunset. (Not HDR treatment) Click to enlarge (best viewed in large) Quote

Grinwhrl Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 nice shots Satyre. I can't wait till spring hits here. I want to get out to and take pictures with color, heh Quote
JeanPaul Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Yo man I think its time for something other than sunsets (dont hate me) Quote
Satyre Posted March 28, 2009 Author Report Posted March 28, 2009 Niark niark niark Ok, let's go for sunrises... What do you have against my sunsets/sunrises? ^^ I really love doing photos at dusk or at dawn, colors are the most interesting. As a matter of fact, my country is a little bit boring now... only uninteresting fields as far as the eye can see... I'm looking forward to the summertime, when fields are colored by bloomy grasses and when trees get their leaves. There, I could do something new Thank you Dark for nice words Well, for you JP: .:HDR:. Click to enlarge Don't tell me to stop HDR-forest shots Quote
Sector-Effector Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Please continue to make HDR forest shots I totally dig the setup in this picture. Those two dead trees in the foreground really give the picture a direction. Oh and: Sunsets ftw \o/ Quote
Satyre Posted March 28, 2009 Author Report Posted March 28, 2009 Hehe, thank you A new one I've just taken and propably the best I've ever done. "Serenity" .:HDR vertorama:. Click to enlarge hey JP, how do you feel about HDR now? Still hating it? Quote
JeanPaul Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Yes, its horrendous. Your images would be so much better without it. Give me the normal exposure original raw file for that image and you will see exactly what I am talking about. Quote
Satyre Posted March 29, 2009 Author Report Posted March 29, 2009 ^^ Give me the normal exposure original raw file for that image and you will see exactly what I am talking about. I don't think so... but I'm very curious, the raw file has been sent to you. It's not exactly the same shot, but a pretty similar one of the same place from where the image was taken from. In that way, there's zero assemblage to do. Here's my version: I'm looking forward to your version JP Quote
mjens Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 My version. Removed bunch of unnatural colors from trees that HDR did to them (replace color > desaturate weird colors from edges), pumped up some contrast to get unnatural creepy shadows that makes the scene more "movie-like". That's all Quote
JeanPaul Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Hey, you sent me the overexposed one. Of course I cant make it look as good as yours if the entire image is blown out Send me the properly exposed one and I will show you want I am talking about! Quote
