Well I know there's been a lot of 'folio threads lately but I really want to get some feedback on my site which i have been working on redesigning for the past month or so and finally completed last night.

http://www.littlelostpoly.co.uk

It stemed from when i tried to update it with some new material and was always a complete pain in the arse to do and the design was 5 years old and looking a bit shabby. I was inspired by Big Philly K's folio design so I've tried to really simplify the content and design myself to make it as simple and as straight to the point as possible. I also made it a lot more web/google freindly with less images-as-text stuff and simplfied the navigation down to 2 sections; Projects and info.

I've been locked away with this for a while now so it would be good to get some outside feedback. Hopefully it wont need updating for another 5 years now :)

Very nice looking site, I like.

And well done on Mirror's Edge! Just finished it over the weekend... had a few nitpicks over the gameplay here and there but still really enjoyed it and I loved the visuals. The stormdrain level was one of my favorite areas in the game visually :) Tell your co-workers to hurry up and get the editor hooked up for the PC version! :D

Ah, very, very nice!

Funny I was talking with Buddy the other day, I should get my folio remade as well, and mentioned you'r old site. how it was so well structured, the colors, nice navigation, not the mention the really great quality work you show! :)

And now, I'm completely stunned by this new design! What can I say? It's simple, neat, clear, crystal and beautiful, and even more important easy as hell to navigate! So, big kudos for you mate, to my eye's this is what a trully professional env artist / level designer online portfolio should look like! :)

One small suggestion tho, make the "Projects, Info, Devblog" buttons a little bigger, or easier to see. It totally slipped by my eyes. I only saw them when dux mentioned you had a cool devblog, I was like "wtf, where?".

So yeah, that's basically it! :) You're one of my greatest inspirations man! Congratulations.

PS.1 Awesome job with Mirror's Edge, I'm so buying this for PC, as soon as it comes out! I love the visual style... just, love it!

PS.2 Any tips you wanna give us about how you made it? it's pure HTML, right? Where did you get that javascript image pop-up? And how did you tweaked it so nicely to blend in with the page colors?

Thanks for the compliments! yeah the nav buttons can 'blend in' a bit too much perhaps, might look into how I can make them look a bit more 'active' so that they stand out a bit more as links. It was made in Photoshop first then took the design into dreamweaver which is good for me as it's a lot more artist friendly and I cant do html for shit. Still required a bit of coding though but it was pretty much copy and pasting code from other areas.

As for the ND ROFL - I could write a book on the development of it, well mainly DaveL - it was like working with David Brent but more psychotic! But met some good friends and made some good contacts in the process. (apart from Phill K - he still sends shivers down my spine ;) )

To me it's really top notch, be it the content or your presentation. I would indeed make the menu pop out from the rest, you could add a bright flashy color you don't have on the site behind it to make it contrast with the rest ? Congrats anyhow :)

i showed your website to one of my game dev friends from boston a couple of weeks ago because he is a total global illumination nut ... and well yeah your lighting is always superb :D

but we both agreed that the usability of your website was a joke. and that alot of the really cool content was deeply hidden within all the subpages that nobody ever gets to see.

the new design is much better in that regard so you have my big fat approval *thumbs up* :)
