⌐■_■ Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 so, i got stalker this weekend and after i downloaded the content, i tried playing the game. when i doubleclick the icon i get prompted to ''activate'' the xrengine with an allready filled in code (5 x 5 digits/letters). when i press ''next'', i have to chose between ''i have no internetconnection on this pc'' or ''my internetconnection is active, send data''. when i press the first option, it gives me a non working link to a non existent webpage. the second option will try to cennect to the server but fails after a few seconds of trying so. is this normal? KungFuSquirrel Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/56582 Some of those that recently bought GSC Game World's S.TA.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and Egosoft's X3: Terran Conflict were temporarily unable to activate and play those games, due to reportedly resolved problems with the TAGES-run authentication servers. ... Upon attempting to run either game, first-time players were told that they needed to activate their copy with a serial number. Some attempts were met with a network timeout error, while others, such as Shacker Stucky_101, report they that had no problems. The issues began cropping up en masse between December 26 and 31, going by two separate threads on the Steam forums. The problem also spawned a lengthy thread over at the offical X3: Terran Conflict forums. The problem was reportedly resolved as of this morning, as both Shacknews and many posters in the Steam thread were able to successfully activate S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. Quote
Meotwister Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 lol I had a similar experience with Red Alert 3, where the activation code I had was missing the last digit/number, and 3 incorrect tries closed the program. Quote
