lomaany Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I want to export a textured model from 3D max to auto desk Maya 8.0, when I am exporting the model in ".obj" form; it is not saving the model with textures like bump maps. Is there a way to export a model with all its render able texture to Maya? I know very little about Maya. Can anybody please explain how to work with both the soft ware’s together? Quote
Warby Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Iomanny thats not the topic of this thread make a new one nobody will find/answer your question here ! you should also explain the problem better i am not even sure what your problem is ... you don't have a proper material assigned once you import it into maya ? or the paths to the texture are broken ?! /edit actually i just saw there is admin tools for splitting threads and i took the liberty of doign this for you ... so don't make a new thread ! these 2 post have been moved form the lod poly reduction thread. Wunderboy Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I think OBJ format only supports one diffuse texture so if you've assigned a bunch of map slots it wont keep them. Try FBX format - it's what Autodesk designed for moving files between Max, Maya, etc. Quote
