Heh, well obviously they've had to make a lot of alterations to make a functional movie off it, but I think they did an outstanding job modernizing it. Also, the movie has a lot of subtle layers and psychology that you need to open your eyes for before you can really appreciate how great a piece of work it actually is. I can't believe how they've been able to cram so much into so little, and I sincerely take my hat off for them. I've watched the movie some 9 times now, and I keep discovering small things and hints that just makes it that much more worthwhile. You really just need to give it a chance, take it for what it is and start analyzing it.

And please, no hating on Robert Downey Jr.

I didn't found it that functional, actually, i found it pretty boring (for a movie). I didn't really liked how the characters personalities were adapted on screen, and also the colored rotoscoped style is not really how i would see one of dick's universes..

But you are right, i should give it another chance, because it's already some time back.

Well, the rotoscoping is good and bad really.. Some scenes benefit a LOT from it, and it certainly sets a great overall mood and feeling.. But sometimes, it's just not as well done and ends up obfuscating some otherwise good scenes. In general, I really like how it turned out though.
