Gloglebag Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 R&D mod is just plain fucking fantastic, for the most part you do not shoot, it owes it's awesomeness to clever puzzles. Why valve still hasn't hired him is beyond me, it's rare to see someone create something beautiful but even rearer for someone to be able to design good puzzles. http://www.moddb.com/mods/research-and-development Quote
D3ads Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Buuuuuump Just for those of you who aren't aware of the wiki page, keep checking this to see any new media being posted; http://wiki.blackmesasource.com/index.p ... l:NewFiles Highlights include the surface in "We've Got Hostiles!" and the first media release for "Questionable Ethics"... is top notch stuff. As you can see the place is updated regularly, so development is still going strong despite some of the tards on moddb saying otherwise! Quote
Campaignjunkie Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Ha, it's interesting how the glass texture I made for AM is kind of part of the whole lab aesthetic now... I'm not sure if it looks right as the skylight for the QE building. Cool stuff though, nice to see bits of life -- and best of all, it isn't publicized. Stealth media updates are the best updates. -HP- Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Yeah, good to see it's still going strong. Quote
PogoP Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 I'm just waiting for the next 10 posts of BM hate Nice to see they're still chipping away at this massive undertaking. Quote
D3ads Posted April 25, 2010 Author Report Posted April 25, 2010 I'm just waiting for the next 10 posts of BM hate Nice to see they're still chipping away at this massive undertaking. I don't get anyone who wants to hate on BMS, I have nothing but admiration for the developers taking on such a task and winning big time so far... Quote
Sentura Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 fuck bms for no apparent reason other than to fulfill the assumption of bms hate in this thread. Quote
Skjalg Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 BMs is an awesome project ! It should have been released in chapters tho... I mean, the original half-life are in chapters... Quote
e-freak Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 according to the female voice actor from the tram (catzeyes93 or something like that) it's the final media update. let's hope she's right (she was kinda right for everything until now). Quote
sarge mat Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Going by the screenshots I like the fact its not a carbon copy and they have added extra stuff in and changed layouts a bit. Quote
-HP- Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Man, i dunno why but I love Source Engine's lighting sometimes! shiiiet Quote
Mazy Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 I don't care when it comes out, I can wait. Even after all these years I think it looks great for a fan project, and its hopefully going to end up being the best way to replay HL1. That said, they sure are taking their sweet time  Quote
Rick_D Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 Have they even mentioned the alien part? That is such a huge undertaking I don't see them finishing their remake in the next few years at least. By which time Source engine will be almost 10 years old. That's the main beef in my mind with their game. Also: http://wiki.blackmesasource.com/images/ ... 010_04.jpg What the hell is up with that wall with the door. Looks like concrete but I guess it's supposed to be metal because of the capsule-shaped door hole. Looks like they get carried away and add shapes and textures in just for the fuck of it. Quote
