I'd really hope that they would have a release ready within maximum a year, even though HL is so great that I'd replay it any day.

If these guys manage to complete this mod Valve should definitely look into buying this and replace Half-Life: Source.

Nah, if VALVe would remake HL1 on source I believe they would take a bit of a different approach to it. I don't thinks this whole buy thing is gonna happen.
