i'm trying to make a cool moving cloud shader. To give the illusion of the clouds changing shapes, i though it might be cool to have an alpha map that scrolls abit slower than the basetexture. Is this possible? I'm sure ive saw sth similar in source on the force fields.

But i have no idea how to do that ;p

the info on the shaders is quite poor imo

what happened to triggering dynamic terrain like in the e3 movie?

there is a terrain deforming entitiy that you can place and have the terrain around it get pushed or pulled in a certain radius around the entitiy. That being said, it's obviously not dynamic.

yes, you have to use proxies. I hope you know trig.

yeah i seem to understand the basics of working with proxies. I got the texture scrolling :P

Thing is, i found out how to get alpha maps in, but only with 32bit tgas

I really have no clue how to make that alpha have a different scrollin speed.

meh i'll look more into the sdk docs...

is it just me who cannot get the HL2 textures and models? cause ive bought the game, should i not be able to get them? or are they hidden inside some funky filetypes one cannot open?
