Minos Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 You must have never heard of the original movie if you are looking forward to this. Quote
D3ads Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I saw the trailer the other day, it looks great but when I saw Keanue Reeves, I cried... Quote
kleinluka Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 I like Keanu Reeves, and I'm really looking forward to this movie! Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 im pretty confident that this is going to suck balls Quote
Spellbinder Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 I like Keanu Reeves, and I'm really looking forward to this movie! Same, and i just love this kind of settings, the doomsday, alians invading earth. I had several nightmares about it, how big ships apear on the sky and just bomb the shit out of us. Hover over all the major cities around the world. I allways got that feeling in the dreams that you are totally out of control of your own destiny and we all really going to die. I think maybe i got influenced by the "War of the Worlds" the radio show that is. Or the movie from what was it the 50's? I want more SciFi! Every move should be SciFi movie (nah just kidding) and i just hope they follow the book for "The Hitchiker" i think i read it like 10 times. Anyway so i am looking forward to this. Quote
Spellbinder Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 I saw the trailer the other day, it looks great but when I saw Keanue Reeves, I cried... What? Seriously? Ok he can be a tad uneven at times but he has made great things in movies. What about: Constantine The Matrix The Devil's Advocate Point Break Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (just to show he can play other then action) etc. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 keanu would do great as klaatu imo =). (or Gort the robot) Quote
Pericolos0 Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 they should have used to music from the original in the trailer =)! this trailer gives me more chills than the new one: Quote
Minos Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Keanu Reeves gonna suck as Klatuu imo. The original Klatuu was very charming and Keanu is one the most expressionless actor ever. It seems the latest trend in Hollywood is to remake old sci-fi classics in modern settings. I am legend, the day the earth stood still etc... shit they are even remaking the Incredible Shrinking Man as a comedy with Eddie Murphy. Quote
dux Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Jesus that old trailer is just that. Old. So old it made me laugh. Quote
Sindwiller Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 The original Klatuu was very charming and Keanu is one the most expressionless actor ever. He wasn't that expressionless in Siddartha (it was Siddartha, right? Or had the movie something with 'Buddha' in it? Whatever.) It seems the latest trend in Hollywood is to remake old sci-fi classics in modern settings. iRobot. A horrible film if you have read Asimov's stuff. Susan Calvin would never kiss a man (except in that one story where they accidentally build a robot that could read other people's thoughts), Elijah Bailey isn't a cool cop ready for action and the earth didn't use that many robots at the time. But we all know that we can fill a whole book with things that Hollywood did wrong when porting over classics. Quote
D3ads Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 What about: Constantine The Matrix The Devil's Advocate Point Break Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (just to show he can play other then action) etc. Shit. Overrated. Decent. Generic. Crap. I'm just not a huge fan of Reeves, it has to be said. Quote
